Mahmoud Hassan al-Denawy, Ph.D. Durham

Being born in 1970, Dr. Mahmoud memorized
the Qur’an at his tender age and pursued his education in Al-Azhar since
he was five years old until now.
He obtained his BA from the department of
Islamic Studies, Al-Azhar University in 1993.
He was awarded Ph.D. from Durham University (UK) in Middle Eastern &
Oriental studies in February 2007.
He works for Al-Azhar since 1995.
He is currently working as a lecturer at the department of Islamic
Studies in English at al-Azhar University.
He also teaches at the Faculty of Shari’ah at Al-Azhar University
He teaches at the Institute of Da’wa and Islamic studies, Alexandria,
Cairo Egypt
He also teaches at the American Open University, Cairo, Egypt.
He worked at the Islamic Center in Durham for five years.
Dr. Dinnawy is fluent in both Arabic and English and can speak German.
Dr. Mahmoud is a host of the Nile and Huda TV (Islamic Broadcasting
Channel).
Main Academic Concerns: International Relations in Islam, Tafsir, Tajweed
and Comparative Religions.
