Week 1 – First Discussion Session - Student should have finished:
- Introduction about history and general rules on how to deal with the sources of Islamic history in general and the history of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs in particular.
- The early life of Abu Bakr As-Siddiqi before Islam.
- Abu Bakr’s life after Islam, his merits and his achievements for Islam before Caliphate
Week 2
- The Incidents of Saqifat Banu Sa`idah and pledging allegiance to Abur Bakr (RA)
- Abu Bakr’s Caliphate and the major achievements and events that took place during his Caliphate.
- The Apostasy Wars and fighting the rebellious tribes who refrained from paying Zakah.
Week 3
- The early life of `Umar Ibnul-Khattab before Islam.
- `Umar’s life after conversion to Islam, his merits and his achievements for Islam before Caliphate
Week 4
- `Umar’s Caliphate and the incidents and the major achievements and events that took place during his Caliphate.
- The major conquests and battles fought during the caliphate of `Umar (RA).
Week 5
- The early life of `Uthman Ibn `Affan before Islam.
- `Uthman’s after life Islam, his merits and his achievements for Islam before Caliphate
Week 6
1. `Uthman’s Caliphate and the incidents and the major achievements, events and conquests that took place during his Caliphate.
2. The rebellions and the riots that took occurred in the second half of `Uthman’s Caliphate and the reasons behind them.
3- Refuting the groundless claims against `Uthman (RA)
Week 7
1. The early life of `Ali Ibn Abi Talib before Islam.
2. `Ali’s life after conversion to Islam, his merits and his achievements for Islam before Caliphate
Week 8
1. `Ali’s Caliphate and the incidents and the major achievements, events and battles that took place during his Caliphate.
Week 9
- Al-Hassan’s early life and his merits
- The Caliphate of Al-Hassan and the major incidents that took place in his life.
