    Course Description

    Objective and Description

    • Clarifying the concept of pedagogy in general, including its definition and concept, related terms, types of education, official purposes of education, and some of the dominant theories of teaching and learning, as an introductory step to clarifying Islamic pedagogy in particular.
    • Providing students with an outlined yet inclusive review of Islamic pedagogy, including its concept, essence, virtue, philosophy, tools, features, institutions, and scholars.
    •  Highlighting how excellence can be achieved in Islamic education through a number of topics, including: principles of Islamic classroom, memory and memorization, cross-cultural and inter-faith education, imagination and creativity, communication skills, and role models.
    • Demonstrating and analyzing a number of challenges facing Islamic education, especially at the present time, including: education of Muslim children in the west, Islamization of the curriculum, and co-education.
    • Educating students on the various aspects of public speaking, weather generally as a tool of teaching and conveying knowledge to others, or for religious and Daw`ah-oriented purposes.
